PhoneGen is a free, browser-based tool that generates random US phone numbers using the officially reserved 555-01XX number range. The Service is provided for legitimate purposes including software testing, development, design mockups, creative writing, training materials, and privacy protection.

3. Disclaimer About Generated Numbers

Critical Notice: All phone numbers generated by this Service are fictional. They use the 555-0100 through 555-0199 range, which is officially reserved by the North American Numbering Plan Administration (NANPA) for fictional and testing purposes. These numbers are not assigned to any real telephone subscriber and cannot be used to contact any person.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. Specifically, you agree NOT to:

  • Use generated numbers for any fraudulent, deceptive, or illegal activity
  • Use generated numbers to impersonate any person or entity
  • Use generated numbers for harassment, stalking, or threatening behavior
  • Use generated numbers in connection with any scam, phishing attempt, or social engineering attack
  • Represent generated numbers as real, active phone numbers to deceive others
  • Use the Service to circumvent security measures, verification systems, or access controls in a manner that violates the terms of service of other platforms
  • Attempt to overload, disrupt, or interfere with the Service or its infrastructure
  • Use automated scripts or bots to access the Service in a manner that degrades performance for other users

5. Permitted Use

The Service is intended for and permits the following uses:

  • UI/UX design mockups and prototypes

6. No Warranty

While we make every effort to ensure generated numbers fall within the reserved 555-01XX range, we do not guarantee that every generated number is non-functional in every telecommunications system worldwide. Users are responsible for verifying that generated numbers meet their specific requirements.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PhoneGen and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PhoneGen and its operators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

Generated phone numbers themselves are not copyrighted and may be used freely for any lawful purpose. The PhoneGen name, logo, and branding are our intellectual property and may not be used without permission.
